I found Denis Wood’s map of pumpkins pleasing.

I wasn’t a big fan of Liam Lynch, mainly for petty, personal reasons, but he seems like a thoughtful dorky guy with a lot of time and resources…sort of how I imagine myself if I ever made it big. This clip made me say “hmm…go on…”

I had once written about my irritation with June’s odd accent, and the editors at Slate were reading. They replaced her with someone who is perfectly acceptable, but doesn’t have that magic Explainer-ness. I’d gladly take June back or even Jesse Thorn. The Explainer seems to be boring these days.
