I was happy to find that the architecture style of my nightmares has a name, and it’s Brutalism.

I Was a Big Boy at Work Today

I totally dropped some science at work today on email best practices. A precious quote from my research come from the Mail Chimp blog: “If you think recipients will actually double click an email to view your message in full screen “to appreciate all its glory,” send us whatever you’re smokin.” OFF THE HOOK.
Thanks to Reid for the documentation.
Oakland Hill Ride
AJ had a genius idea: since I’m certain my 2001 Trek 1000 doesn’t fit me anymore, or never did (I didn’t go through any early 30′s growth spurts), I should just get a new frame and keep the wheels and components. I will have to find out if my financial partner will ok the forms needed to have funds requisitioned.
Also: someone is building a house above the water tower, near the end of the hill ride.

WE VERSUS THE SHARK
We Versus the Shark (or We Ver$u$ The $hark????) is a fine band that I heard about via All Songs Considered SXSW wrap-up. Ideally, I would have discovered them had I gone to SXSW, but crowds frighten me.
They seem like agreeable folk and play a blend of Trumans Water-style goof spazz rock with a little DC/Unwound sound. I gather Samantha has since left the band, which makes me curious what their two vocals/two guitars sound will evolve into. They absolutely have nailed that “my keyboard sounds like Ross’ Epson scanner” sound.
Here are some other videos of varying quality for your convenience.
It should be noted that All Songs Considered has a really good way of presenting music that is surprisingly timely and of a wide variety. Certainly one of my weekly podcasts (that I end up not listening to for months).
